MENTORSHIP & SUPPORT.
During the past several years, NorthNet libraries have learned a great deal from their experiences with earthquakes, wildfires, floods and other emergencies. One of the most important lessons learned, is that you are not alone.
When a disaster strikes, reach out to peer leaders who have been there. NLS Disaster Recovery Mentors are here to help. State and national organizations are also available to provide emergency guidance and to assist your library during a disaster.

Disaster Recovery Services Emergency Container – Simpson College/North State Cooperative Library System (NSCLS)
The North State Cooperative Library System (NSCLS) serves the thirteen northern-most counties of the state. In partnership with Simpson University, NSCLS received one-time funding from the California State Library to establish and support an emergency supply container that is available to libraries for assistance in responding to disasters affecting libraries and their collections. The AIC provides guidance on preserving special collections, a searchable directory of conservators and a series of Disaster Response and Recovery Guides, which offer guidance on how to salvage and handle damaged library materials.
