MENTORSHIP & SUPPORT.

During the past several years, NorthNet libraries have learned a great deal from their experiences with earthquakes, wildfires, floods and other emergencies. One of the most important lessons learned, is that you are not alone.

When a disaster strikes, reach out to peer leaders who have been there. NLS Disaster Recovery Mentors are here to help. State and national organizations are also available to provide emergency guidance and to assist your library during a disaster.

The California Preservation Program

The CPP offers a wide range of preparedness and preservation resources for California libraries.
They also offer 24/7 emergency assistance available at 888-905-7737.

The AIC provides guidance on preserving special collections, a searchable directory of conservators and a series of Disaster Response and Recovery Guides, which offer guidance on how to salvage and handle damaged library materials.
